This project was a new $27 million, 9,300 m2 building which houses a wide range of engineering research, from nanotechnology to biofuel, and included wet and dry laboratories, teaching spaces, and academic offices. The building also contains a full machine shop and powder technology pilot plant. A central manifolded exhaust system serves more than 40 fume hoods. Innovations included the transfer of office return air to laboratory air system makeup for energy savings and improved office IAQ. The project was completed in 2006.
