Electrical EIT - London

Position: Electrical EIT

Reporting to: Project Manager and P.Eng

We have an immediate opening for an Electrical Engineering EIT in our London Office. As an Electrical EIT, you will be responsible for assisting project teams with all aspects of electrical designs for building systems. Projects will focus on health care, institutional, industrial and commercial buildings. Systems will include generation, electrical distribution, HVAC, fire alarm, security, paging systems, lighting and controls, etc. You will be responsible for design calculations, equipment selections, and work with drafting software to produce formal design drawings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the completion of design projects
  • Assist in the coordination of multi-discipline designs
  • Work with suppliers and manufacturers to obtain information and quotes, and generate project specifications
  • Assist in the preparation of drawings and schematics to be included in project designs
  • Coordinate with other disciplines (Mechanical, Architectural, Structural, Civil, etc) to ensure drawing integrity and completeness
  • Work with contractors and respond to technical inquiries
  • Assist in the review of final project implementations including job construction
  • Assist in the development of building service size calculations
  • Development of photometric (lighting) models.

    Skills / Qualifications:

  • 0 to 3 years relevant experience
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in production of technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models (ex. AutoCAD, Revit, etc.)
  • Knowledge of Canadian Engineering standards
  • Familiar with bid and tendering process
  • Familiar with commercial construction practices
  • Analytical, problem solving and decision making skills
  • Ability to work in a team and independently
  • Able to communicate ideas and recommendations to non-engineer team members in a clear manner
  • Ability to work under pressure

  • Intermediate Mechanical Engineer - Ottawa

    We have an immediate opening for an Intermediate Mechanical Engineer in our Ottawa office. As a Mechanical Engineer, you will be responsible for assisting and leading project teams with all aspects of the design of mechanical systems for health care, institutional, industrial and commercial buildings, including: HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, medical gases, sustainability, etc. You will have responsibility for performing design calculations, selecting equipment, and to guide the CAD staff and assist in the development of CAD design drawings.

    Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage, prioritize, and complete design projects for various clients
  • Coordinate multi-discipline designs
  • Receive and review process and product requirements, work with suppliers to obtain information and quotes, and generate specifications
  • Preparation of drawings and sketches as required; Assist with the preparation of drawings and schematics
  • Coordinate with other consulting disciplines to ensure drawing integrity and completeness
  • Review architectural and structural drawings
  • Work with contractors and respond to technical inquiries
  • Assist with business development

    Skills / Qualifications:

  • Professional Engineer Designation in Ontario
  • Knowledge of Canadian Engineering standards
  • 10 to 15 years relevant work experience related to building systems
  • Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in production of technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models (ex. AutoCAD, Revit, etc.)
  • Familiar with bid and tendering process
  • Experience in site investigations and construction review
  • Analytical, problem solving and decision making skills
  • Ability to work in a team and independently
  • Self starter with excellent communication skills
  • Able to communicate ideas and recommendations to non-engineer team members in a clear manner
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • French language would be an asset
