Construction of this new 12,000 m2 facility was completed in 2008. This was the first LEED Gold certified building in the area, and incorporates many sustainable features, including 63 ninety-metre deep vertical bore holes serving as a geothermal field for heating and cooling. Energy costs were predicted to be 46% less than a building built to meet current Codes. Monitoring has shown it uses even less energy than predicted.
