This project was a new 12,000 m2 facility for the Sisters of St. Joseph. This was the first LEED Gold certified building in the area and incorporates many sustainable features, including 63 ninety-metre deep vertical bore holes serving as a geothermal field for heating and cooling. Energy costs were predicted to be 46% less than a building built to meet current codes. Continued monitoring has shown it uses even less energy than predicted.
