This new $44 million, 9,300 m2 interdisciplinary building is Western’s first net-zero facility. It was designed to facilitate collaboration between students, faculty members, and entrepreneurs. The building features an all-electric food preparation suite, 500-person event hall, seminar rooms, business incubator, maker space, and collaboration space. The primary source of heating and cooling is a heat pump chiller connected to a geothermal borefield below the building. The project was completed in 2024.
