This project was a $9.7 million, 3,200 m2 laboratory renovation project which also included a 700 m2, one-storey addition. The building houses a pilot plant for water/wastewater technician training, a fully operational high-pressure steam boiler plant training facility, and robotics, PLC, and nanotechnology engineering laboratories among others. Mechanical systems were generally replaced, including new plumbing, laboratory service, fire protection, HVAC, controls (including laboratory pressurization controls), and a new fume exhaust system. Electrical upgrades included electrical distribution, emergency power, lighting and controls, fire alarm, and security conduit systems. Voice/data conduit and cabling were also updated. The project was completed in 2018.
