Business Cares Food Drive
Chorley + Bisset staff and their families volunteered in support of the annual Business Cares Food Drive. For their part, staff helped collect food and monetary donations for the London Food Bank. The Business Cares food drive is a community giving initiative organized every year in the weeks leading up to Christmas. This year's campaign brought in the equivalent of 625,000 lbs of food, going to support families in need throughout London and the surrounding area. C+B is pleased to take part in this annual event and we look forward to participating again.
Charitable Donation Initiative
In 2022 Chorley + Bisset established a new Employee Charitable Donation Initiative with the goal of providing an avenue and opportunity for employees to support and rally around causes and charities that are important to fellow team members. The first year of this new initiative proved extremely successful with a total of $20,000 raised through employee donations that were matched by Chorley + Bisset. A $10,000 cheque was recently presented to each of the 2022 charities: the Alzheimer Society and the Canadian Cancer Society.
Building on the previous year's momentum, Chorley + Bisset is honoured to announce the following two charities were chosen for 2023:

Chorley + Bisset Consulting Engineers Award
This is awarded annually to two full-time students in second or third year of Engineering: one to a student in the Mechanical and Materials Engineering program and one to a student in the Electrical and Computer Engineering program. The recipients must have a minimum 75% average and show participation in extracurricular activities.

Forest City Road Race
C+B employees volunteered at the recent Forest City Road Races by operating a water station along the course. It was a great team exercise and a beautiful day to be outdoors. Congratulations to all the participants, we look forward to seeing you next year!
Habitat for Humanity
Chorley + Bisset employees were proud to be able to participate in a day of building hope for our local community. A group of 10 employees traded in their pens and pencils for a tool belt and got to work on a Habitat For Humanity work site a short distance from the office. The weather was beautiful and a great time was had by all working up a sweat for a good cause! We look forward to participating again in future… Keep up the great work Habitat for Humanity!
Christmas Toy Drive
Every year the staff of Chorley + Bisset donate toys to the Salvation Army Toy Drive and the company matches their contribution.
London Health Sciences
Chorley + Bisset donated $75,000 to LHSC in 2018, to be distributed over 5 years. We recently gave a $50,000 pledge, bringing our cumulative total to nearly $220,000, and are members of the London Health Sciences Foundation Victoria Society (for donors of $100,000-$499,000). Donations like ours help enable the hospital to invest in key technologies, equipment, and patient initiatives.
Local Engineering Firm Builds Support for Hospital’s Greatest Needs
Corporate Sponsorships
The firm has made significant financial contributions to sponsor a room at the Thames Valley Children's Centre. In the past, through sponsored canoe trips, George Chorley raised more than $250,000 for the Children's Centre.
Chorley + Bisset sponsors a seminar room in the Claudette MacKay-Lassonde Pavilion at Western University. We have also established an annual financial award for two undergraduate students in Western's Faculty of Engineering.
