This project was a new $37 million, 9,300 m2 building for Western's Faculty of Engineering which connected two previously existing engineering buildings. It includes classrooms, design laboratories, fabrication project spaces, casual spaces for both students and faculty, as well as research labs for software and mechatronic systems engineering. Sustainable design features include an innovative pairing of chilled beam cooling and a 100 kW Solar PV array. This project achieved LEED Platinum certification and won a 2019 CAGBC award for new construction.
